New Generation Integrated Sports Measurement System

The Podia is an integrated system of body wearable data-loggers, companion modules, and sensors designed by Motus for use in high performance sport analysis.

500hz logging capability, multi unit wireless sample alignment, high bandwidth wireless data transmission, and analog expansion allow extensive configuration options for data capture.  Motus iPad Apps allow on-site analysis of session data combined with video synchronization to provide visual feedback for coaches and athletes within seconds. Motus Review software for PC and MAC provides in-depth post session review of all logged parameters, comparative analysis of multiple session data, synchronization to video and GPS maps, and custom report generation.

Further customization by motus developers for sport specific applications is available to enhance training session productivity and post training analysis. Podia is also fully compatible with all existing SPIN MMS1 data loggers and force measurement systems.

The hub of the system is a data logger module with a cortex M4 Processor, USB, GPS, Wifi, BLE, ANT, memory LCD display, 4 button UI, and CANbus based analog expansion.  The module is a waterproof,  60g, 6.5cm x 5.5cm x 1.6cm package. A run of 20 units were produced and delivered to Canadian Olympic teams.

Analysis Software for Podia and MMS

Olympic teams. This PC and MAC software was developed by Motus as a companion to the MMS and Podia hardware.  It provides a platform for coaches, biomechanists, and analysts for in-depth post session review of all logged parameters, comparative analysis of multiple session data, synchronization to video and GPS maps, and custom report generation.

Instrumentation for Sports Science

The MMS was designed by the founding engineers of Motus for SPIN and Own the Podium in 2010 for use by Canadian Sports.  The MMS is a 200hz data logger with GPS, ANT+ and a 16 bit microcontroller.  Companion Review software allowed detailed analysis by coaches of athlete performance.  The system saw extensive use by several Canadian Olympic Sports organizations, and is still in service today.

Motus iOS apps provide real time feedback to coaches.  The apps sync data from podia data loggers with iPad video for real time review. Providing athletes immediate feedback on recent performance from the captured data enables iterative improvements in performance
